Mylapore Festival 2024: big shows are two dance dramas, a film vintage music concert and a Tamil play

A vintage Tamil film music concert, two dance productions and one musical play that was written by Pammal Sambandha Mudaliar will feature as the big shows on the main stage in the open air as the 2024 edition of Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival in early January.

The fest is from January 4 to 7, with events at six venues with over 100 artistes taking part.

Singers C A Rajah and Vijaya present the film music concert on Jan.4,  A compact show.

On Jan.5 evening is the dance production ‘Bhavayami Raghuramam’. Performed by Sindhu Shyam and dancers from Kanagasabai and Kalaasindhu. Direction by Dr. Sasirekha Raammohan ( photo below)

On Jan.6 evening is another dance production titled‘K3 – Kanda Kadamba Kathirvela’. Directed and choreographed by Radhika Shurajit ( photo below)

And for the finale, on Jan.7 is Sangeetha Payithiyam’; a Tamil musical play presented by Shraddha Theatres. Written by Pammal Sambandha Mudaliyar and direction by G. Krishnamurthy. ( first photo)

The main stage is set in front of the 16 pillared mantap of Sri Kapali Temple ( outside east gopuram).

All shows of the Fest are open to all.
