Teens at this church stage Christmas play unfazed by cyclonic weather

When Cyclone Michaung was brewing off the coast of San Thome, on the evening of Sunday, December 3, the children, teachers and volunteers of CSI St. Thomas English Church Sunday School were busy gearing up for their annual Christmas play.

Titled ‘A Christmas Addition’, the play was a colourful nativity spectacle, with children from ages 4 to 15 acting in it.

Held at the multipurpose hall in the church premises, the story evolved around the various decorations associated with Christmas, to convey the core message of the festival – Christ’s birth is the real reason for the Christmas season.

The congregation also turned up in full measure to cheer and encourage the children. And thankfully, the storm held off too that evening, till everyone could return to the safety of their homes.
