Mylapore theatre group to premiere English play based on 1971 Indo-Pak war

Mylapore-based theatre group SB Creations helmed by S B S Raman is premiering its latest drama based on what is called India’s greatest military triumph – the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

This English drama, titled “Birth of Bangladesh” is based on 1971 Indo-Pak war.

 

While Major Gen. M. Indrabalan ( retired officer) has ideated and curated this play , S B S Raman directs it.

On at Guru Nanak College auditorium, Velachery, March 31 evening. The chief justice of Madras High Court is the chief guest. Guests to this show are by invitation only.

Raman says that if there are invitations to stage the play elsewhere, his team will be willing to do so. The play has cost a bit and the opening show is funded by many.

    Hope he is there in spirit.
    My dad participated in the 1971 war.
    I was a baby and missing dad. We were in mathura UP.
    Mom used to say how I used to squeel when the lights were gone during blackouts . Dad used to tell war stories during lunch and dinner.

    I never documented those stories.
    He used to tell all horrible things like dead bodies lying as they took shelter to fire……

    He wanted to contribute to such endeavours. But he is not more.

    He was in signals. He loved his work to bits.

    Missing dad.
