Rosary Matriculation School in San Thome celebrated its diamond jubilee on Saturday on its campus. It was a simple event for this key milestone.
Nuns of the FMM congregation which manages this school among others like St. Raphael’s Girls School and Stella Maris College, gathered at the school auditorium for a special Holy Mass that morning. They were joined by some parents of students, some students and well-wishers.
Rev. George Antonysamy, archbishop of Madras-Mylapore diocese was the lead celebrant of the Mass, and a few other priests co-celebrated.
A simple jubilee event was held after the Mass.
Started in 1950 with the intention of offering young girls of the Mylapore-San Thome area, English school education of the state syllabus, Rosary was the preferred school in the 1950s to 70s period.
