TalkAct Productions, a theatre group for children, organised a vibrant Open Mic Event on April 25 at Children’s Club, Mylapore. The performers, enthusiastic tweens and teens, were given the freedom to present their original poems, stories, or stand-up comedy acts to an appreciative audience.
As a thoughtful takeaway, Shilpa Menon—author, writer, and founder of The Whimsical Word Worm Book Club—offered valuable and encouraging feedback to each young performer.
A highlight of the evening was the outstanding performance by Dia Isabel Sebastian, a 13-year-old stand-up comedian. Her remarkable stage presence and ability to captivate the audience with laughter left everyone amazed.
Other memorable moments included Naquiyah Dhankot’s delightful piece expressing her love for chocolate and Shrija’s moving poem titled “Letter to My Younger Self”, which left the audience spellbound.
18 young performers showcase their talent through mature and impactful pieces that were both commendable and entertaining.
TalkAct Productions is now open for admission for drama and communication classes in affiliation with Trinity College, London. For details call 9025146101.
