EcoKonnectors Trust together with RAPRA ( a body of the R A Puram community) launched the “Say No To Plastic” campaign at the Sri Sidhhi Buddhi Vinayakar Temple at R A Puram recently.
Dr Chandrashekhar and Ravi Kumar of RAPRA launched the campaign by meeting people outside the temple and requesting them to avoid accepting plastic bags for archanai and to use their cloth bags.
The team from EcoKonnectors – Bala, Sumithra and Ganga – met hawkers outside the temple and spoke to them about the harmful effects of cheap plastic bags.
At the launch of the campaign, paper bags made by the students of V-Excel and sponsored by RAPRA were distributed to the hawkers to use instead of plastic bags.
EcoKonnectors has also requested the temple management to support this eco-friendly initiative.
