Civic workers dig up cemented Pitchu Pillai St. Access to people here made very difficult

This is how Pitchu Pillai Street, Mylapore looked like on Friday, July 18 morning.

GCC-designated civic workers hammered down and broke up the cemented street from end to end the opast two days, residents said, leaving residents, small business owners and temple-goers frustrated.

Was there a need to break up and relay a fairly good street, asked one resident.

Another said that such work could be planned well to allow one way flow of at least prdestrains since many houses and businesses are located here.
