Many streets are being relaid by GCC.
One half of Solaiappan Street has been relaid last night ( photo shows the street), said civic activist C. R. Balaji. One assumed the second half will be relaid soon.
Road relaying machinery is seen parked at east end of Madha Church Road, part of which has been scraped.
Residents of some streets in the heart of Mylapore said that while the streets have been cleared of the top layer as required ( milling), they have been left unattended for a week.
Nadu Street has been milled; that was four weeks ago. Residents said GCC contractor’s men are not to be seen. MT photographer shot this photo, seen below, on July31 morning; he confirms from residents that the milled street has remained so for four week or more.
Pitchu Pillai Street and Chitrakulam North Street were milled long time ago not relaid yet, said Balaji. He adds that Mosque Street is also milled but unattended for many weeks.
Balaji said that Devadi Street and Appu Street have not been satisfactorily milled.

Gcc never forgets to collect, increase property tax and water tax. Taxes will be collected every year road will be milled and laid once in five years.
East Abiramapuram 1st Street was milled over two months ago. It has not been relaid yet.
Bawa road relaid after almost a month. Now the stretch of St Mary’s Road from old crowne plaza has been dug. Hope they relay it soon
In Karaneeswarar POGDA street near gas agencies their is small 4 lane long due for putting the proper Tare road We are also paying tax and E B Water and sewage I don’t why they forget to put the same THANKS FOR ME GIVEN ME FOR COOMENT
It’s good to see that GCC is relaying many streets in the Mylapore zone, but some streets have only been milled and haven’t been relaid yet. Hope the pending work is completed soon to avoid inconvenience to residents and commuters.

Sambandham street in mandaveli also no action taken to lay thar road….near by street are done second time with in 2 year 2 times but none bothered about sambandham street opposite to Ranga hospital
