D. Sundaravaradan, aged 79, passed away on July 26 after a brief illness.
He was a resident of Mylapore throughout his life.
He served as a one of the trustees at Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam for five years during the period 2010 to 2015. He was associated with this temple for over five decades.
His family said was a regular at the Kanchipuram Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple.
He was a a familiar figure in the Chitrakulam and Mada Streets zone where he used to walk briskly almost daily. His family said he never missed visiting Sri Vedantha Desikar Temple.
He studied in P. S. Higher Secondary School, Mylapore.
He was a share broker and headed Kanchi Investments for some time ; he worked at Mani & Co (a broking office) for a few years.
