R. A. Puram community rescues cat after much drama

On July 8, a stray cat had climbed a tall, roadside tree on R A Puram’s Third Main Road’s west and got stuck there, not knowing how to get down.
It continuously meowed from atop to draw attention.
Some residents who sighted the predicament of the cat called the Fire Service.  The men rushed to the spot but struggled for three hours and couldn’t make much headway.
Members of Raja Annamalaipuram Residents Association (RAPRA) then contacted Chennai Corporation’s street light division AE and requested him to spare a crane that is used to repair street light faults.  The AE obliged.
Anbu, a watchman of the apartment near the site of the drama climbed the ladder of the crane, struggled for quite some time and unmindful of the sudden downpour,  caught the beleaguered cat by its neck and brought it down.
Applause rent the air when the cat was brought down by Raju
The dehydrated feline was immediately rushed to a nearby Vet clinic for observation and rehydration.
That the GCC crane van driver and the crane operator happened to be around in the locality helped get the action going.
