St. Antony’s Girl’s Higher Secondary School, Mandaveli celebrated Kalvi Valarchi Naal on July 15 on campus, marking the birth anniversary of former chief minister K. Kamaraj.
It was also the occasion to inaugurate the clubs on campus, for students.
Dr. Fazlunnisa Syed H, assistant professor, department of library and information science, University of Madras presided and spoke.
Students took turns to perform and to speak on this occasion.
Students read from the Bible, the Quran and from the Bhagavad Gita to launch the day’s event; members of the Thamizh Club presented a skit while members of the English Club presented a medley of dances.
An awareness programme on the hazards of plastic usage/waste was presented by the science club team. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competition. The sports and class leaders of the new academic year were given badges.
School headmistress Dr. Margaret Daisy was present.
An aquarium with colourful fish has been set up on campus recently and this has drawn the attetnion of many students.
