Regulars at the events of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s festivals are treated to ‘high tea’ before the curtain goes up for a concert, discourse or dance.
People line up in the foyer to tuck in and the snacks are generous.
For the Aadi festival recently, Bhavan’s ‘asthana caterer’ Anandan was asked to cook and supply some snacks that went with the flavour of this season.
White channa sundal, sweetish karamani sundal, rava upma and sakkarai pongal, kesari and puliotharai and finally, khichidi and halwa.
Deputy director of Bhavans, Venkitachalam says that while tea and biscuits were served befOre the events, the snacks were served at the end of it.
