The Alwarpet flyover may be used for two-way traffic movement soon. Traffic Police at this spot said that they plan to observe this pattern during peak hours.
The flyover road was divided into two lanes using plastic barricades, some of which have already been run down. Now, a barricade section at the Narada Gana Sabha end of the flyover, disallows south-bound vehicles to use both lanes; cars and bikes have to use only one lane though bikes zip down the other.
During park hours now, south-bound vehicles are caught in traffic jams that extends on to the flyover; this happens when the traffic lights at Dr Ranga Road junction turn red ( stop).
