It has been a quiet start to the Navaratri celebrations at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple from Sept.22.
That evening, the ambal, resplendent in the alankaram of the day, was seated on a annam vahanam and brought to the mantapam for rituals, even as devotees lined up to watch and pray.
Every evening, the ambal with a unique alankaram for the day will be brought in the day’s vaham to the kolu mantapam here.
People start streaming into the temple after 5 p.m.
For Vijaya Dasami, Oct.1, there are special rituals here in the evening.
