P. S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, hosted a memorable Teachers’ Day celebration on
September 8 at Srimathi Narayani Ammal Kalyana Mandapam, Jeth Nagar, marking a
historic milestone—the school’s golden jubilee along with the felicitation of its principal,
Dr. Revathy Parameswaran, who recently received the National Award for teachers 2025
from Droupadi Murmu, president of India.
The event began with a warm welcome to over 50 of the school’s former teachers, returning
to the place “where their wisdom shaped countless young minds.”
Then followed a touching concert by Praveen Pandit, alumnus of the school.
A highlight of this event was the felicitation of Dr. Revathy Parameswaran by the school’s former
principals, Vijayalakshmi Srivatsan and Lakshmi Srinivasan, who were also the previous recipients of the National Award for teachers, in 2002 and 2013 respectively.

The event was attended by members of the management and heads of P S Society.
Abhinav Kota, Akash Elango, Pavithra, and Saicharan, students of class 12, presented a
documentary on the milestones of the school, tracing its five-decade journey.
All the staff members were given a memento.
The P. S. Society anthem was sung to bring the curtain down on this event.
