Retired banker writes book on food he has tasted across India

V. Girivasan, a banker turned author, who lives on Luz Church Road has just released his first book – Rusitha Unavum Rasitha Unarvum.

This digital book published by Pustaka.com and available on Google Books documents Indian food tasted by Girivasan in many parts of the country and the emotions attached with it.

“I worked for the State Bank of India for 40 years and have travelled across India. In my first book, there are 35 essays which have interesting anecdotes on Indian foods tasted in Kerala, Assam, Maharashtra, Odisha and Tamil Nadu,” said.the 63-year-old who goes by the pen name Myilai Girivasan, “because I love the area and have been here for over three decades.”

Girivasan is a man of many interests. He told us that he underwent a three-months acting course at Mindscreen Film Institute. “I think that is when I developed a deep urge to write.” he adds.

The book was released by Sujatha Rangarajan, wife of writer late Sujatha.
