HSBC’s branch on Cathedral Road hosts stalls of NGOs. Sale of organic foodstuff, garments, crafts and jewellery. Open till Oct.17

HSBC’s Chennai branch inaugurated its annual Helping Hands Mela at its branch premises on Cathedral Road. The mela was inaugurated by Nina Reddy, JMD of the Hotel Savera group,  Kasi Viswanathan MD of CSK, film personality Vincent Ashokan along with Muthukrishnan Ramanujam, MDr and Head – Financial Accounting, Global Finance HSBC.

HSBC conducts this annual mela across all its branches in the country, in the week leading to Deepavali. They provide space in their branches to various NGOs to set up their stalls and display their products.

Ayshwarya Desikan, executive director and regional manager, HSBC Private Bank spoke about how passionate each staff of Chennai branch were in not only ensuring good sales for these NGOs and in creating awareness about the causes that they support.

15 NGOs  have set up stalls here, with products like handmade handicrafts, artificial jewellery, household articles, organic food and an array of traditional garments.

These stalls will be open till October17, 10 am and 4 pm, at HSBC, No.5&7 Cathedral Road, Chennai 600 086.

The mela is open to HSBC staff, the bank’s customers  and to the public.
