A small stretch of newly laid stormwater drains which remained unfinished has now been completed on an urgency basis.
This stretch is on P S Sivaswamy Salai, near the Vivekananda College zone.
Since the GCC and state wanted all works to be completed by October 20 in preparation for the monsoon, this civic work was undertaken.
But this section of the road is still closed with the barricades not removed yet – perhaps to allow the newly executed work to settled down.
Also, mounds of sand and materials are seen all around and this will have to be cleared for smooth passage of vehicles.
