Bike-borne men attacked Syed Mohammed, a resident of Royapettah near the Indian Overseas bank on Sringeri Mutt Road in Mandaveli on Nov.24 and made off with a large amount of cash Syed wanted to deposit at the bank’s ATM.
Passersby who witnessed the crime chased the two men on the bike and managed to detain one of them while the bike-rider escaped.
The detained man was handed over to the police. Abiramapuram police are handling this case.
