P. Sekar, a popular and long-standing fruit seller of Mylapore who ran his business on South Mada Street, opposite Sri Velleeswarar Temple passed away on Oct.30
He had a large circle of customers and the prices of the fruits he sold were affordable. He opened the shop early and closed only at 10 p.m. His wife often assisted him here.
He loved evergreen, popular Tamil film songs of the 50s and 60s and at this music would be on play on his cellphone at the stall.
He was a resident of Mosque Street
As a mark of respect to his memory, many hawker shops on this road remained closed for half a day, the day after Sekar passed away.
