The community at CSI St Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome celebrated the Pongal festival on Sunday January 11 after the 7.30 am Mass.
Pongal was prepared in a pot in the church campus. Sakkarai pongal, kara pongal and vada was served to all the parishioners.
Competitions in Rangoli, uri adithal ( breaking the pot) and snapping the sugarcane were held.
The event was organised by the pastor Rev Dr. B. Devasprasad and the pastorate committee led by secretary Esther Jebaraj and treasurer Samuel Swamikkan.
