Chartered accountant P. Kumar, 65 years old and a resident of Mandavelipakkam, passed away on January 11.
Fondly called ‘Auditor Kumar’, he was a lifelong resident of Mandavelipakkam. He was born in 1960 in the house in which he lived for 63 years, his family said.
He and his wife, Godavari Kumar, also a chartered accountant, ran their professional practice under the name of P. Kumar from their office-cum- residence from 1986.
Kumar schooled at San Thome High School, graduated from Vivekananda College and completed his chartered accountancy course and set up practice.
Kumar was a philanthropist and contributed quietly, supporting teens in their studies and adults who were facing pressing times.
He is survived by his wife Godavari Kumar, son Dhruv Kumar and daughter Ishitha Kumar and their families.
