Talk on Jan.28: Early Gujaratis in Madras. By Karthik Bhatt

Early Gujaratis in Madras ; this is the theme of an illustrated talk by Kathik Bhatt, on January 28 evening at Ashwita’s art gallery, 2nd Street, Dr Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore ( near New Seethapathy Clinic).

The Gujaratis were one of the earliest migrants to this region and to Madras and were known for their entrepreneurship and for their philanthropy. Karthik plans to focus on some well-known Gujarati personalities and on the key contributions they made to the city’s development.

Karthik Bhatt is a chartered accountant by profession. He is passionate about history and heritage, has co-authored books with city historian V. Sriram, written some books independently and also performs in Tamil plays.

This talk is an INTACH Chennai Chapter event. Starts at 6.30 p.m. Open to all.
