Watch a Tamil play on Republic Day evening in CIT Colony, Mylapore.
“Pattangil Ullapadi” is a street play, produced by Chennai Kalai Kuzhi and is written and directed by Pralayan.
It highlights caste discrimination and the issues around implementation of the SC/ST Acts at the grassroot level and the resistance to the discrimination.
It was primarily produced to sensitise state officials and has been staged many times at various venues.
The Jan. 26 show starts at 5.45 p.m. and is staged at Kaylir Canteen restaurant campus, 1st Main Road, CIT Colony, Mylapore and is open to all.
A note from the theatre group says tht after the play is staged, the artistes and guests are invited to read the preamble of the Constitution of India.
