Kumbhabishekam of newly-built Thiruvalluvar temple on Feb.27

The grand kumbhabishekam of the newly built temple dedicated to Thiruvalluvar in Mylapore is to be held on February 27, starting from 8 a.m.

Scores of workers are giving the final touches to the temple which has come up in place of the earlier, simple one located off Thiruvalluvar Street, PNK Gardens, Mylapore.

Preparations were put in place on Wednesday morning for the yagasalai rituals.

The TN state government set aside a budget of about Rs.20 crores for the new temple, which is fully in granite with an elevated design that is supposed to look like a chariot. The foundation stone for the temple was laid in early 2025.
