Masi Magam celebrations began early on March 3 morning.
Processions started from Sri Veleeswarar Temple and from Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, besides other temples around 8 a.m. and headed to an area on the Marina shore off the Light House.

The procession carrying lord Kapali first did the rounds of Mada Streets, then went down Nadu Street, joined east end of Kutchery Road and headed to the Marina.
Some 300 people gathered at a tent erected on the sands for the palanquin to be rested.
The rituals were conducted here.
