Modern library opened in R. A. Puram. Also has study hall for students, section for children

A modern library and study space has been formally inaugurated in R. A. Puram. This is a CMDA project under the ‘Muthalvar Padaipagam’ programme of the urrent DMK government.
It has come up in the space where a district library stood. On Third Main Road, R A Puram
It was inaugurated today  by the Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu
The ground floor is meant for the general public – to read.  A variety of books, novels and magazines  are available. The first floor section is dedicated for the study needs of students – especially for youth who prepare for the civil services, college admission and other competitive exams.
There is a separate section for children, stocked with books suitable for them.
The whole area is air-conditioned and fitted with new furniture.
There is still some civil work to be done in the complex; obviously the launch was timed before the announcement of elections in the state.
For now, there is one librarian; staff are expected here in a week’s time.
Wheels chairs are provided  for the use of differently abled.
The library is open from 8 am to 11 am and from 4pm to 7.30 pm
