Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras recently completed the ‘Peace Clubs in Schools’ project for the academic year 2025–2026 in some local area schools.
The schools included Lady Sivaswami Girls Higher Secondary School ( photo below) and St. Raphael’s Girls Higher Secondary School. ( top photo).
The project also covered Children’s Garden School, Mylapore.
Students from Grades 5 and 6 participated as Peace Club members.
S. Kulandaisamy, secretary, Gandhi Peace Foundation, said that at the club meetings, resource people discuss with students their daily life experiences and try to share Gandhian principles that they can apply in addressing them.
Certificates were distributed during the valedictory functions held in these schools in late February.
