‘Kaatriniley Varum Geetham’, a Tamil play based on music legend M. S. Subbulakshmi has been staged in Chennai by the Chennai-based theatre group, Three Entertains, founded by Lavanya Venugopal and M.V.Bhaskar.
The play is based on a book written by VSV Ramanan and dramatised by Bhaskar and Lavanya. Dakshin, the grandson of the maestro Dakshinamurthy has composed the music while Carnatic music vocalist Gayathri Venkataraghavan performs the immortal songs of M. S.
Theatre artiste Lavanya directs and stars in the play, donning the MS role. The play will be staged on March 8, at 4pm at Mylapore Fine Arts Club (MFAC) auditorium, presented by Humour Club, as a celebration of Women’s Day.
The show is open to all.
