Kodai Nataka Vizha. From April 22 to May 3. All new Tamil plays

The 35th Kodai Ntaka Vizha presented by Kartik Fine Arts starts on April 22 and goes on till May 3.

The big change this year is that while the venue is Narada Gana Sabha hall from day one till April 30, the drama shifts to the stage of MFAC sabha hall from May 1 to 3.

There are 12 plays and all will be new ones, as is the tradition of this festival.

 S. Anand’s Theatrix Stage Crafters is the only one who features for the first time in this festival which honours its founder, late Kartik Rajagopal.

The regular troupes and directors are featured in the line up – from Theatre Marina and Dummies Drama to Legally Yours and PMG Mayurapriya.

The dramas are open to all. Rasikas can review the plays and submit their entries and the best ones get prizes.

There are 30 plus prizes for the theatre groups and artistes in various categories, to be presented at a June 1 event.

Being a popular drama fest, seats fill up fast: besides, as summer peaks, the air-conditioned hall is the refuge of rasikas for 10 evenings. Daily at 7 p.m.
