70 people, young and old do yoga on a terrace. To mark Intl Yoga Day.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, 70 people, including men, women and children, gathered on the terrace of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, and took part in a yoga session.
The session was conducted by teacher S. Veerabadran who guided the group through various asanas and explained their names and benefits. The session also included guided yoga practices.
During the session, a few women shared their experiences:
A.Meena Arun (32, Mylapore) said she has been attending the classes for the past two years. “Initially  I  attended for fitness and relief from postnatal body pain, and later continued for mental peace.”
Jaya (48, R. A. Puram) said she has been practising yoga since 2018. “I was mentally down after the demise of my husband but yoga helped her regain strength and motivation.” She later completed a certification course at Vivekananda Illam and is now a yoga teacher.
Lakshmi (52) has been attending classes for the past two years for wellness. “I have got relief from foot pain, improved sleep, and reduced bloating. She also added that yoga has helped in building friendships and finding mental peace.
At the Sunday morning event, a prize was presented to a senior couple. Return gifts were distributed, and breakfast was provided.
The yoga classes are conducted here – from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. in the morning, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the day, and from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. in the evening.
