Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore is hosting its annual “Tamizh Theatre Festival 2026” consisting of four plays from July 14 to 17 at its main auditorium.
The inauguration is on July 14 at 6.00 pm. N.Ravi, chairman, Bhavan’s Chennai Kendra presides. Dr.Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, vice- chairman is a special guest.
This year, the “Iyakkunar Sigaram K.Balachander Award” (instituted by Kavithalayaa Krishnan) will be given to Sachu, the well-known film and theatre artiste) on the inaugural day.
The dramas will be staged every day at 6.45 pm.
On July 14: UAA presents ‘Varadu Kutty-Paritchaikku Neramachu 2,
July 15: ThRee Entertains presents ‘Kaatriniley Varum Geetham’
Juy 16: KNT presents ‘Veera’,
July 17; TV Varadharajan presents Sangeetha Mumoorthigal.
The plays are open to all.
