Starting this academic year, Savitri Ammal Oriental Higher Secondary School, Mylapore, has for the first time for any government-aided school, introduced a smart ID card for its students and staff.
This project has been fully sponsored by the school’s alumni association. The technology has been provided by PraVyuha Tech Solutions LLP through their ERP software BeeVyuha.
Every student and staff ID card now carries a small Bluetooth chip, and special devices placed at various points around the campus can track a person’s movement, said school manager Srinivasan, in an e-mail.
The school already has smart boards in all its classes along with a separate lab for maths for classes 6 to 8.
