On Wednesday ( Sept.16) people walked down to the Marina shoreline, carrying small images of lord Vinayaka they had celebrated at home, to immerse it in the sea. To signal the end of their Vinayaka Chathurthi festival.
They came through the day – some in the morning, some past 4 p.m.
Some were individuals, some came in twos, and some brought their children along.

Most images were simple clay ones.
After the immersion, many stood in the waters, prayed and went back home.
Urbaser Sumeet workers were assigned the shoreline to clear any waste that would wash up on the shore.
