Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled what is called the Sanskrit Heritage Model and Platform at the Madras Sanskrit College premises, Mylapre on Sept.15.
This project is the result of a partnership between Madras Sanskrit College (MSC) and Articul8 AI, a USA based company. It is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system built to work with Sanskrit language and texts while giving users ways to explore knowledge and trace responses back to their sources.
In simple terms, this project translates complex, ancient text into content that can be easily understood, it uses perfect grammar so there is no scope for wrongly translated content and it helps scholars dig deep into ancient Indian texts to learn about medicine, astronomy, math and more.
IIT-Madras is also a collaborator in this project.
