The Prison Ministry of India , Chennai branch led by its co-ordinator Fr. S. Prakash held a one-day orientation programme for the children of prisoners on September 26 at Saint Raphael’s Girls School campus, San Thome.
Eighty children of all ages – students from LKG to Class 12 took part in this event.
Fr Prakash said that this event was conducted for the first time and the good response has motivated his team to host such events on a quarterly basis.
Nuns and volunteers helped to organise the event. A few Good Samaritans came forward to sponsor breakfast, lunch and tea for the children.
The children were given a kit with motivational books on Dr. Abdul Kalam and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
