December Season 2026: Narada Gana Sabha is improving its audio systems

For December Season 2026, the management of Narada Gana Sabha is collaborating with Mad-rasana to improve the auditorium’s audio system.

Sabha’s honorary secretary K. Harishankar said that their intention is to provide rasikas with an improved listening experience.

The systems will be in place by late November and will be in use when Kartik Fine Arts hosts its first quarter of the Season’s concerts at this venue.

“Rasikas will be able to enjoy the complete experience from December 1,” said Harishankar.

The sabha is also tweaking its concerts schedule  – the top billing concerts will start by 3.30 pm and the final one will end by 8.30 / 8.45 p.m. The break between the evenings concerts will be lengthened a bit to allow rasikas to snack and for artistes to settle down on stage.

“We are doing all this based on feedback of rasikas who say they have to head home early and that the Chennai Metro project work has disrupted their commute plans,” said the secretary.

The sabha also is also mulling on the idea of restricting use of the canteen to ticket holders. “Over the years too much buzz is around the canteens and this affects the rasikas who are keen to be on time for all the concerts and manage a quick bite at the canteen,” said Harishanker.
