The floodlights on the high mast inside the GCC playground on Canal Bank Road, R A Puram, also called Alphonsa Ground, which were refitted and the mast renovated, were formally switched on by the Mylapore MLA, P. Venkataramanan this week.
Youths who play here had been complaining that the lighting for the ground was poor.
Local area councillor Amirda Varshini was present at this event.
