Mylapore Police have formed a team to track three people who are accused of kniving a young man to death on Veerabadran Street, Mylapore on Oct.5 night.
The man who was attacked died on the way to hospital.
The trio are said to have travelled to the street on bikes, attacked the young man and fled.
Local people said that residents did not make any attempts to come to the aid of the victim who lay on the road and the police and ambulance arrived 30minutes after the attack took place.
Police said that the victim had a history of substance abuse and his family had arranged for his treatment. He and his family used to reside in Mylapore and had shifted to Velachery.
