It rained through the night on August 17. Mylapore too experienced heavy rains. When people woke up the next day, they saw water stagnating on the streets.
Parts of V C Garden colony, R.K. Mutt Road, Mandaveli, Eldams Road were flooded.
The worst scene was on R.K. Mutt Road which is potholed all through the year. Motorists had to negotiate puddles of water.
In many colonies, contractors of state agencies have dug up the sides of the streets and roads to either repair or relay drains. The rains created slushy conditions.
