Karthigai Deepam set the mood for Carnatic music rasikasas the first arts festival of the December season 2010 rolled out in Mylapore.
Sunday evening was just the time for Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to launch the festival at its auditorium.
As devotees on the mada veedhis went about their duties and some streamed into the hall after a visit to the temple, the fest was inaugurated by three dignitaries. Artistes T M Krishna, Sudha Ragunathan, Chengleput Ranganathan, A K C Natarajan and Guruvayur Durai were honoured.
A concert by T. M. Krishna followed. Concerts will be on for three weeks and are open to all.
