The Aadhaar Card process in Mylapore will begin only next week. Chennai Corporation officials told Mylapore Times this morning that the file on this assignment was submitted on Monday to the Commissioner and his approval is awaited.
“The process cannot be started this week in any case,” said the ARO based at the zonal office of the Corporation in Adyar.
But the officers at Census Department had said last week that the process would start on July 5.
The ARO says that groundwork is on now and his team will take all efforts to inform people of the process, the dates, the venues and the coverage of the process.
“We can do this job wards by wards so we will not have it across the zone in one go, ” the ARO said on Tuesday.
He said the publicity and posters will be extensive and residents will be able to keep a tab on the process. “They don’t have to worry,”he adds.
