MLA opens rooms at anganwadi, built from her funds

MT MLA ANGANWADIThe Mylapore MLA, R. Rajalakshmi of the AIADMK party opened three new rooms for the anganwadi based in Valathope, near Sri Mundagakanni Amman Temple this morning. The project, funded by the MLA funds will provide new space to about 50 kids in the 2 to 5 years age group to learn, play and dine.

Meenakshi, the staff here says the anganwadis fall under the Chennai Corporation and the state Social Welfare Department is also involved in its management. “We are open all 365 days of the year and when children grow up they move on to join local schools,” she said.

Rajalakshmi says she has funded many projects in her constituency out of the funds each MLA gets from the state. There was some delay in opening the new rooms at this anganwadi.
