Award for Chettinad Vidyashram teacher

The Physical Education Department Head of Chettinad Vidyashram, Muthupandi, has received the best teacher award from CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). He has been working in the school for the last 19 years.

He has participated in athletics in zonal, district and state level during his schooling, said that he had immense interest in volley ball and kabaddi from his childhood. During his year in college, he participated in all India inter university and national level decathlon and won medals for three consecutive years. He participated in 22nd interntional invitation athletic meet and was seeded 6th.

He started his career as the HOD of Phys Ed department in Chettinad Vidyashram and is in charge of all games including basket ball, swimming and rowing. He has been a great source of support to his students and under his guidance, students have won awards at several international events. Being the NCC Officer of the school, he takes great pride that 9 of his cadets have participated in the Republic day parade at New Delhi. He also guides his cadets in several activities like trekking and cycling.
