The buzz got louder and excited on Mylapore’s North and East Mada Street last weekend as hawkers pushed the sales of kolu dolls on the eve of Navaratri.
Some 50 plus stalls have been set up on these two streets though some stores located on the streets have made sure the stalls do not spill on to pathways to their premises. Reason why stalls are also seen on one end of East Mada Street.
Prices seem to be high, one piece quoted Rs 1000 at one end and Rs.450 at another end. Much bargaining goes on but shoppers say the prices are too high to allow them to purchase many dolls.
