According to an analysis, Mylapore topped the number of music performances for the December 2018 season, with Alwarpet being third highest. The music season which starts mid- November and goes on till end of January, saw 750 artist perfomances. Of these, 43% performances were conducted in Mylapore and 15 % in Alwarpet. T. Nagar recorded 22% with 6% in Royapettah and other places in Chennai.
The data, which was taken from Music of Madras app, also showed that 59% of Carnatic vocal concerts this season were by female vocalists. Dec 25, Christmas day recorded the highest number of performance (77).
