To prevent the spread of Coronavirus, Jumma Masjid off Kutchery Road, Mylapore has been closed. The public is not allowed to enter and pray here.
Says Syed Masood Jamali, Chief Imam, Jumma Masjid, “We have closed the mosque in view to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. No prayers are being held here. People are advised to pray from home. To remind them about the prayer timings, announcements are being made through a public address system at the mosque.”
The mosque, he says will remain closed till the lockdown period is over.
