Amma Unavagams, the canteens run by the civic body have come to the rescue of many people who do not have the facility to cook and have a meal.
Many security guards and odd-job work people headed to the Unavagams in the area where food was available. Though the menu is small, it is fresh and ready.
At the Unavagam in Alwarpet’s C. P. Ramaswamy Road the staff here not only drew lines inside to make people stand at safe distances but also avoid any crowding and people who came in followed the rule.
There was no crowding at the canteens though.
