Sumitra Srikant, a resident of R. A. Puram, has been growing organic vegetables in her garden for about 16 years now. Her garden store, Aapti Gardening Solutions, was set up more than two years.
She says, “I had to close my shop once the lockdown was announced but I felt that I could help the residents out with their gardening problems. I have created a whatsapp group and have been sharing a few gardening techniques. Yesterday for example, my topic was keerai. We talked about the problems associated with growing keerai, harvesting issues and so on. Today my topic is soil mix. I also conduct a quiz at the end of the day”.
