Subbalakshmi belonged to Kumbakonam in Tanjore dist. and was married to K. K. Sundaram.
She passed away on December 23 at her residence at Thribhuvan, Alwarpet. She was 92 years old.
She is survived by a son, three daughters, seven grand children and one great grand son.
Subbalakshmi learnt music from flutist Nagaraja Rao.
She would play the harmonium and was a very melodious singer.
She lost her husband when she was 52 and had brought up her three young children. Her eyes were donated to Shankar Netralaya.
